Screen printing (silkscreen)

Screen printing is a type of printing when a print is produced by passing paint under pressure through printing elements of stencil form with printing squeegee. Silk screen printing was patended in Manchester in 1907.
Compared with classical and some new printing methods, possibilities of which are limited by format choice with printed materials and thickness of paint layer, screen printing has the following benefits: wide choice of the format, almost unlimited possibilities of printing on different materials and products, on flat and volumetric shapes, wide range of paint thickness adjustment of layer, and relatively inexpensive and simple method of manufacture of printing forms. Due to various opportunities of application, simplicity and cheapness of printing shapes production, screen printing is widely used around the world. In industrialized countries in recent years the quality of Screen printing has grown significantly because of the new machines, materilas and technologies. Lines with thickness of 100 microns or less ... are printed without any difficulties. Reproduction of absolute accuracy of flexographic printing plates sizes on the imprints allows to state that the quality of this printing method is equal to traditional printing methods. Despite the development of digital printing, silk screen printing remains indispensable thanks to high image stability and a wide range of materials which can be printed.
